The Tajikistan Society of the United Kingdom aims to strengthening relations at all levels between the United Kingdom and Republic of Tajikistan; it encourages dialogue between the peoples of the two countries, and facilitates better understanding and co-operation between them. Our objects are • to contribute to greater mutual awareness, understanding, dialogue, tolerance and mutually-beneficial co-operation between the peoples of Tajikistan and the UK through the promotion of cultural, historical, academic, humanitarian, educational, economic, sporting and social ties; • to organise activities and opportunities for present and future generations which encourage increased awareness, understanding and co-operation between Tajiks and British peoples; • to support Tajik nationals living in or based in the UK to maintain connection to their cultural, linguistic, scientific etc. heritage; • to receive, hold, manage, and disburse funds for the fulfillment of the above objects. In pursuit of the above purposes • to perform all necessary functions for the fulfillment of these objects, including but not limited to language classes, educational seminars, exchanges, twinning, information sharing, email newsletters, lectures, seminars, conferences, networking events, panel debates, picnics, festival celebrations, etc. Our partners: Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in the UK, Trade rep of RT in the UK, VSO, TajikInvest Charitable Trust, Public Organisation Peshraft, InvestIntalents.Com, EBRD, Asia Plus, Ozodi, Vecherka and many others
Structure of the society:The Tajikistan Society of the United Kingdom and its property are managed and administered by a committee comprising the officers and other members elected in accordance with the adopted constitution. The officers and other members of the committee are the trustees and patrons of the Society. The charity has the following officers: Chairman: Azamat Sultanov Alumni of Moscow State Institute of International Relations (i.e.MGIMO). MBA Graduate of the Gloucestershire University. Speaks fluently Russian, Tajik, Turkish and English and experienced in media, journalism and private equity. Published several books (e.g. Boat Trip). He is also a UK correspondent of Asia Plus News agency.
Vice-Chairman: Firdavs Shakhidi Firdavs Shakhidi works in the investment management and finance industry. He holds a BSc in Economics from University College London as well as MSc in Investment Management from CASS Business School. Firdavs speaks fluent Russian, Tajik and English. He is also on a board of trustees of the TajikInvest Charitable Trust and Generous Hearts Charity.
